From the guys at The Home Help Heroes, your local handyman friends in Victoria, MN

Hey neighbors, we’re Nick and Dave,  a couple of dads, longtime friends, and co-founders/handymen behind The Home Help Heroes here in Victoria, MN. We’ve been fixing stuff around here for years, and if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s this:

The little things in your house? They don’t stay little for long.

One of our favorite parts of the work is solving problems. And that's really the heart of what we do - helping you catch little stuff before it becomes a weekend-wrecking, budget-busting project. Here are five signs your home might be dropping hints that it's time to bring in a handyman.

1. Your Doors Are Sticking or Won’t Latch Right

Minnesota weather can be brutal on your house, especially the doors. If they’re sticking, dragging, or not closing flush, it could be humidity, settling, or hardware wear. We can fix that up in no time and make sure it’s not something bigger.

2. You’ve Got a Drippy Faucet or a Toilet That Won’t Stop Running

These seem small, but they waste a ton of water (and money). We’ve replaced more toilet flappers and kitchen sprayers than we can count, usually in under an hour. Way better than listening to it drip all night. Don't hesitate to call us for clogged drains, too!

3. Cracks in Your Walls or Ceiling

Not every crack is serious, but some are. If you’ve noticed new ones, or they’re getting bigger, it’s worth having someone take a look. We’ll let you know if it’s just cosmetic or something worth flagging.

4. Outlets That Don’t Work or Switches That Feel “Off”

Loose outlets, flickering lights, or warm switch plates? Don’t ignore electrical stuff, even if it seems minor. We can safely diagnose and take care of smaller electrical fixes so they don’t become bigger problems later.

5. Cabinet Doors, Handles, or Railings That Are Loose

If you’re using one kitchen drawer with two hands or avoiding the wobbly railing on the deck, let’s fix it. These are the things that slowly drive you nuts and they’re quick wins with a handyman who knows what he’s doing.

Bottom Line

We get it, life gets busy. The “I’ll get to it this weekend” list turns into next month. That’s where we come in.

We’re not some giant company. We’re your neighbors, and our business is built on referrals and doing good work the first time. If something’s bugging you around the house, or you just want to hand off that list, give us a shout.
